I’ve been working as a professional illustrator and surface designer since 1992. I began my career with staff positions in children’s apparel in Detroit and Chicago. After becoming an independent creative, I’ve created for the educational, toy, apparel and social expressions markets. My style is fluid and fun with a bit of nostalgia (vintage illustration is where from I’m most influenced), and lends itself well to a variety of applications. While experienced with gouache and colored pencil, I prefer digital mediums, using Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop CS6 for Mac. I’ve worked with some wonderful clients including Peaceable Kingdom, Klutz/Scholastic, Wilton, Gumtoo, Fisher-Price, Harcourt Educational Publishers, Highlights for Children, and Hallmark and was invited to show my work at the Cedarhurst Center for the Arts from January until April of 2010. I’ve been a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators since 1997, and currently reside in a Chicagoish place with my brainy husband and equally brainy but mischievous boys!
